INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Who do you look up to/ who is your mentor?
One of my mentors is my dad because being a brazilian born man he became very successful as an engineer in America and is able to support our family. Another mentor of mine would be Quentin Tarantino because he was young when he made his first film and he became very successful, also he did not attend film school.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Myself five years from now is still a very unclear image, but I hope to be working on my own short films after I attended some time at film school. Also, I hope to have been on a film set under the guidance of an experienced director with the help of the Film Connection Program.
Tell me about a time that you participated in a team, what was your role?
I played basketball for 7 years starting since I was fifth grade, but I believe I played an important role during my last season of playing on my school’s varsity basketball team. The role that I played was that of someone who came off the bench to give a more important player on the team a breather or if they had foul trouble. Most people wouldn’t accept this role because you don’t seem that important, but I accepted it because I realized how important it actually was and played this role with great pride.
How do you handle pressure/stress?
When faced with a stressful situation, I try not to think about it too much so I do not stress about more than I already am. But when I do begin to think about it, instead of worrying too much about it, I think about how it can be resolved and try to create a plan of action to resolve this problem.
What kind of person would you refuse to work with?
There are not many people that I would not work with because I can get along with many different kind of people. But the one kind of person that I would not like to work with is anyone who is very self-absorbed and egotistical. Those kind of people are extremely difficult to work with and they do not believe they are ever wrong.
What motivates you?
What motivates me to do work and to become successful is to secure my future. This motivates me because I know how I would like to live when I am old and independent, and doing as much work now that will help me later is all of the motivation I need.
What would your previous boss/supervisor say your strongest point is?
What my previous boss would say my strong points would be that I am quick learner and that I take criticism very well. I see these as very good qualities because they lead me to become good at my job very quickly and do very efficient work.
What kind of work do you enjoy the most?
The kind of work that I would enjoy the most is either creative collaborative work within a small group or independent work. Why I enjoy working with a small group is because bouncing ideas off of one another to get to a common goal is a very rewarding feeling. But I also enjoy independent work because my thoughts are not bothered at all by others and it is very satisfying knowing that I can accomplish something on my own.
What are your strengths?
A few of my strengths are that I am a very good listener and that I am creative. Why these are good strengths of mine is because they being a good listener is a sign of respect and efficiency. And being creative is a strength because I can show a unique way to get my job done and get it done effectively
What are your weaknesses?
One big weakness that I have is that initially I am quite shy and introverted, but with time and as I get more comfortable that changes greatly. Another weakness is that I don’t like asking questions and this is because I don’t like to bother my superiors and feeling inadequate.
